Who we are
An Independent Colorado Guide
Colorado What's Up (coloradowhatsup.com) is an independent guide to what is happening in Colorado: the festivals and events that shape the year, the seasonal windows that decide when to go, and long reads on how the state works, from altitude and afternoon storms to drought, history and camping ethics.
The site is edited by Zach Wennstedt, a Colorado writer and publisher who was raised in Boulder and lives in Denver. Zach is also the founder of Eye To Ad Media, a Denver digital marketing company, and the site is published by Search Converts LLC. Colorado What's Up is not affiliated with the State of Colorado, the Colorado Tourism Office or any of the event organizers, parks or agencies we write about.
What we cover
What You Will Find Here
- Event calendars and festival guides. A month-by-month events calendar plus guides to music, food and drink, film and arts, winter and western events, and a wildlife watching calendar.
- Long reads. Six in-depth pieces on how Colorado works, listed on the guides page.
- Planning references. The best time to visit, scenic byways, the traction law and state facts.
Our companion site, Colorado What To Do, covers activities, regions and itineraries. The two sites are written separately so that each covers its own ground.
How we work
Sources, Corrections And Independence
We build event listings from the organizers' own announcements and from public agencies, and we link to the source so you can check it. Where sources disagree about a date, we say so rather than guess. Our full approach is on the how we research page.
Colorado changes quickly. Festivals move, venues change and roads close. If you see something out of date, please tell us through the contact page. Corrections are reviewed and the page is updated once we can confirm the change.
Listings are chosen by our editors; any sponsored placement is labelled. The site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense, which is shown separately from editorial content. Our privacy policy explains how advertising cookies work and how to opt out.
